Outback Smart progressing well

20/08/2008 4:10:00 PM
Conservation Volunteers Australia project officer Tricia Curtis visited Roxby Downs last week to hear news first hand about the progress of the Outback Smart program.

"Alliance Airlines have generously donated four return flights from Adelaide to Olympic Dam," Tricia said.

"It's a tremendous support for the project."

Outback Smart is an innovative new program adapted specifically for the residents of Roxby Downs.

It has been adapted for Roxby Downs from a similar program called Living Smart which was developed in Western Australia.

"Alliance Airlines are committed to supporting residents in gaining knowledge in reducing their energy output at home and to develop sustainable living practices through simple, easy steps," Sabina Doney, Outback Smart project officer said.

Outback Smart is supported by the Roxby Downs Environment Forum, Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA), Desert Knowledge CRC and BHP Billiton.
