The time had come for the Andamooka Roos to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, but it did not start off the way they were hoping for, as they did not get to play a fixtured game.

Coober Pedy forfeited, but the Roos were keen to play a game of football, and that they did.

The scratch match involved current players, old players and a ring-in.

As the game went on more of the ex-players decided to join in.

The second game of the day was played between Hornridge and Roxby Districts, which was said to be one of worst in back chatter for the year.

Both field umpires and some Boundary and goal umpires also picked up on it.

The football itself was a good game as it was hard football.

Roxby won the match by not a small margin but it was not easy.

Hornridge would not go down easy as it did not let Roxby get an easy ball all day.

The hard, physical football resulted in injures to both teams.

Highlights of the day would be Ricky Prosser kicking six goals, Hornridge’s young ruckman Mark Barrand who did not stop all day and play hard, tough, smart and clean football.

A player from Hornridge was reported for striking and will have to attend the tribunal.

After a great scratch match it was time for the 'mighty' Andamooka Roos to celebrate its anniversary.

The celebration was held at the Andamooka Hall.

During the night they heard speeches from Zolly Fernci, Rob 'Kraaack' Kraack, Fish, Mark Fraccas, Ricky Grantham and some others.

The 20-year team was also announced, and all enjoyed a good night.
