Hornridge was without its back pocket Josh Moyle and Andamooka was without centre half forward Stuart Fernci so it was set for a classic match.
With both sides still waiting on arrival of players the match got under way and Hornridge got off to a good start kicking the first three goals unanswered.
The first quarter went Hornridge's way but Andamooka did not give the goals away easily as Hornridge fought well and played hard and tough footy.
The second quarter was a bit more even as Andamooka cawled its way back into the game, making it a bit more exiciting for the crowd.
After the half-time break the scores were fairly close as the game went back and forth.
Efforts from both teams saw good football skills shown by both teams espically through the middle of the ground, the spped from Ben “Hot dogs" Grimstone was amazing and the kicking and delivery to forwards from Tyrone Price was simply inspriational.
Andamooka had the skills from Todd Ripley in the middle of the ground, and Matt Touhy in the backline really helped out the roos.
Sam Hall in the hundredth game for the ‘Roos played well up the ground and earned himself second-best for the ‘Roos and was helped out by Austy Monfries who played down the foward line this week and kicked a lazy five goals.
In the third quarter there were a few scuffles between players and one resulted in a goal for Tyrone as he was awared a free kick plus a 50-metre penalty for rough conduct.
It was set up for a big last quarter and that it was as it went back and forth continually.
The last quarter was a hard-fought one as both teams were looking for a win and the points.
In the end Hornridge came out a victor and had what some people called an upset win over the ‘Roos.
Unfortunately for Hot Dogs he was caught high and was very dazed and had to be stretched off the ground, luckly for him he wasn't too bad and was alright after the game to celebrate the win.
OD vs Coober Pedy
In what was Coober Pedy's last game in Roxby for the year it was looking to leave on a good note.
Unfortunately that didn't quite happen as the team only kicked one goal to Olympic Dam's 23 goals.
Even though Coober Pedy did not look like winning, it never quit which ended well for them.
Some inaccurate kicking from OD saw them kick 14 points as well, keping the winning margin lower than last time the two teams met.
Dale Summerton was kept to five goals for the day - considering he kicked 12 last time they played.
Daniel Rodgers played well and recieved best on ground for OD and also kicked three goals.
Next week Hornridge makes the trip to Coober Pedy and Roxby and OD adds another chapter to their stories.
