At the end of the school holiday period, it was straight back into the swing of things with Friday night netball, and what a round of netball it was.
Miners 1 were preparing to take on table leaders Green Devils in what proved to be an epic of a match.
The Devils supporters keen to see there team win were quietened by the roar of the huge Miners support group, who created a deafening sound encouraging their team along.
You could almost relate the atmosphere to that of last year’s grand final.
The game filled with ups and downs and the lead changed hands on several occasions throughout the first quarter.
Devils edging toward a first quarter lead of only four goals.
This lead not enough to sustain a win with three quarters remaining it was still anyone's game.
Devils with only the one reserve were able to maintain consistency in court positioning, while Miners with their full playing list made regular changes throughout the game.
Miners only able to match the Devils in the final half but were unable to overcome that first quarter lead.
Hayley Summerton and Elke Parks were very good in defence for Devils while Lena Allen was notably best on court for Miners.
Final score Green Devils 49 defeated Miners 1, 42.
Hornridge 1 were successful over Miners 2, the game was consistent from both teams, maintaining a steady score throughout, but as expected Hornridge 1 the stronger team were out in front at every break.
Full credit to Miners 2 who were able to hold the stronger Hornridge to a 59-goal result.
The result still adding to Hornridge's percentage score who are now out on top of the season ladder, at this stage the final table positioning will come down to percentage within that A1 division.
Best on court for Hornridge was Katica Cockshell and Meg Elliott.
Final result Hornridge 1, 59 defeated Miners 2, 29.
The A2 game for the evening saw Hornridge 2, 37 defeat Yellow Devils 23.
Yellow Devils not playing at regular strength struggled throughout the game and were defeated by the Hornridge defence and experience down court.
Sophie Wissell was again excellent in defence and also in the goal shooting position for Hornridge while fill in player Kara Wedding was also very good in the goal defence position for Yellow Devils.
Yellow Devils were unable to keep up with the well equip Hornridge side and went down by 14 goals.
In the B-grade competition OD Devils 24 were defeated by Andamooka 30.
Both teams were holding equal ladder points prior to this game, the match promised a good battle.
Andamooka were boosted by the return of Amanda Whittaker to the side, whom did not disappoint, Whittaker best on court for the Andamooka side, maintained consistency and control through the centre court.
Devils unable to find a winning combination went down by only five goals to the stronger Andamooka side on the night.
Louise Reid was best for Devils in defence.
The result of this match now places Andamooka clear by two points over OD Devils, the B-grade competition shaping up to be a very exciting final series.
Miners 3 had a confident win by 16 goals over Hornridge 3.
Hornridge 3 over recent weeks has been very good edging their way up the ladder.
This week the young Miners perhaps with youth on their side were able to out run their opponent and out-score them in every quarter.
Bonnie Maroney played a strong hard running game in centre for Miners while Kristelle Cockshell and Chloe Barrand teamed up in the mid court for Hornridge attempting to slow the Miners attack.
Final result Miners 3, 41 defeated Hornridge 3, 25.
The win for Miners 3 now places it on equal points with Hornridge.
